How Much Can You Carry?
We all notice things about our children that seem to make them special in some way or another. The way that they were made and the talents they have give them a unique existence that we as parents feel is our own personal blessing sent from God.
My younger daughter always amazed me with her strength. As a young girl at the age of three, she picked up two gallons of milk that I had set outside of the car when getting the groceries out. Not only did she pick them up, but she also carried them up a flight of steps. I kept telling her that I would get them but she just kept telling me that she had it. That really amazed me but the thing that we often forget is how amazing the strength of our heavenly Father and how He sees us as believers. God looks at us in our present human form and sees our needy condition. He sees our condition and knows our strengths and weaknesses.
The strength of God is in comparison to our strength as an adult lifting 100 pounds and a baby lifting 1 ounce. Both the child and the adult had enough strength to lift the weight.
No matter what the size of our problem may be, the strength to carry us through this problem is always enough when we rely on God and have faith in Him to see us through it.
Perhaps you are going through a small trial today and it seems as though you can easily trust God through this time to comfort you. But, maybe you are going through one of the largest trials that you have ever experienced and your not sure if you can make it through this hour, day or week without giving up. Remember this, my friend, your problem is light in God's strength compared to what you can carry. You know that you can carry the twenty, fifty or one hundred pounds but our father is able to carry all things because He is all powerful. Letting Him take over is an expression of our faith when we cannot do it ourselves. His strength doesn't weaken when the trials of life come our way! He is always able to lead, guide and protect us! We need only to look to Him and keep our minds leaning on His truth and the promise He has made to do just that. I want to share some verses from 2Corinthians that have meant allot to me in some of the hardest times of my life and I want you to let the words of this passage to soak in and strengthen you today.
2Corinthians 1:2-5
1 Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
3 Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds by Christ.
As the sufferings in your life abound or increase for choosing to do what is right in the eyes of God, so also does our strength increase by the one who gives us strength, by Christ. Our father who has no limits. I know people right now that have problems that seem too great to bear, but I will tell you as I have experienced in my own life, to lean and depend on Christ for your comfort and your strength and He WILL see You through until His will is done in your life!
Philipians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens ME!
