This was our last week of camp so I took a couple of pics to share with you. We help gather about 30 of these every week on Saturday mornings while people are at the beach and doing other things much more fun, but it makes it possible for the director to take a little more time with his family before the campers arrive again on Sunday afternoon.
This seems to be a hard position to fill when it comes to volunteers! haha! There are other men who have helped separate this trash each week for many years as they are required to recycle due to the large volumn that they generate each week. One of the men was an engineer for the federal government studying air polution for 30+ years and the othe was a surgeon who practiced in Malaysia for about 20 years. You never know who your going to meet when you volunteer!
The goal that I had in starting to help this summer at New Life Camp was to participate in helping a ministry that reaches the youth and to learn more about the operation of a camp. One day I would love to start a camp specifically for the giving of encouragement and wisdom, especially to those who have been through the tough stuff in life. It looks like it will take allot of support and involvement by people who share the same desire to accomplish this but I believe that all things are possible through Christ which strengthens You!
Remember, when you begin to honestly live your hearts desire, you will have honestly, learned how to love.
1John 3:18 - My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth
In His service,
Rob Bailes
